Show, Don’t Tell

When you tell people what to do, you are disconnecting the open leadership you want to establish. Open communication is the only way this structure works.

As a leader, it’s your duty to recognize leadership in others and allow them to express that leadership. One of the key messages from this structure is to find leaders within the organization and encourage them to step forward and step up. It is among these leaders that ideas and theories for success emerge. Those on the front lines of your company who use the processes that upper management put in place are those that know best the problems and assets of those processes. Take the time to show your managers how to be open, effective leaders. Show them how to spot a leader within the group and encourage those leaders to share their thoughts and ideas. And, show those around you how your new structure will benefit all aspects of the company for the betterment of everyone.
